Thank the American Heart Association if…
Have a Happy Thanksgiving!
- Your family member had a successful heart bypass,
- You had open heart surgery and slept through the whole thing,
- Your neighbor was able to return to work after having a stroke.
The grant we fund today could save a life tomorrow.
Have a Happy Thanksgiving!

GAPS IN THE SYSTEMS OF CARE COST LIVES.
Each year, hundreds of thousands of Americans have a type of heart attack known as STEMI, in which blood flow is completely blocked to a portion of the heart. Unless the blockage is eliminated quickly, the patient’s health and life are at serious risk. Currently, around two-thirds of STEMI patients fail to receive the best available treatments to restore blood flow.

The American Heart Association created Mission: Lifeline as a response to missed opportunities caused by gaps in the system of care.
Press Conference will discuss barriers:
*Activation of 911 “Why we don’t call for help”
*Access and quality of care
*Fragmented systems of care and building community partnerships
*Funding, training and guidelines
*Mock STEMI Heart Attack EMS call
The Challenge of Saving Heart Attack Victims & Bridging the Gaps of Care
